Wow, it's been awhile! Sorry folks.

Today was really wonderful. For one, I cleaned my room totally, with no installments leftover! It's so nice to come home late to a clean room. Also, the added thought-benefit of empty floorspace (both for conscience and concentration) is tremendous.

Then it was off to hang out with Juan before going to pick up a ticket for the new They Might Be Giants documentary. Before I go on to the documentary (which all the filmmakers kept regrettably calling "docs"), I do have to say that Juan and I kicked it old-school, 8-bit style on his apartment's new retro game system. We were thoroughly thrashed by the computer in both Joust and Tennis. Why have humans voluntarily invented such a cruel world? Who needs "The Matrix" when you've got a game less smart than your watch kicking your backside.

As for the documentary, it was wonderful. A true testament of the joy you can spread by being excellent at what you do. The two Johns are excellent at what they do and apparently they've brought joy to a ton of folks. Rock on. =) I highly recommend seeing it when it comes to your area.

With that said, it's time to go to bed. I spent too long watching anime with Megan and Alfred. Tired eyes. Tired me.

I have three words of perfection for you all:

Nutty Cheesy Salad.

They make the Nutty Cheesy Salad (tm) at Pebbles restaurants...it's a meal in itself (as David Letterman would say). I get one at the rate of about one per year. The strange thing is that the best part of the salad is neither cheese nor nuts: the fatty sesame stick crunchies they throw in with everything else. My mom's friend Stacey took me out for lunch today because I got a good report card last semester. It's fun to feel like I'm in fifth grade again =).

I have two more words:

Relevant Magazine

If you look under the "Progressive Culture" heading, you'll see my review for The Breeders' "Title TK"! I'm finally a published reviewer once again. For those who do not know yet, Relevant Magazine is a magazine about God, Life, and Progressive Culture that doesn't limit culture by preconceptions about God and doesn't limit God with preconceptions about culture. Sounds like a good thing to me. =)

I have a new favorite quote...it's from one of the student movies that I watched today while waiting for my friend's movie, "Slumberland", to appear. It's from a horrible, horrible student film. The line was spoken from a distraught young wife to her crap of a husband:

"No one understands me, and you can't take that away from me."

Let us bask in its glory.
