Lots of good things have happened lately:

-Last Friday--I had lunch with Megan and her mom, Tricia. It was wonderful to see them again after so long. We chatted about everything and nothing, just like old times, and ate these really good sandwiches that Tricia made. They gave me this really disgusting lollypop that I committed to eating amidst their cries for me to stop. I think my lollypop consumption even disturbed their rather large, but healthy (not fat in any way, mind you!) kitty named Willowinks...Mr. Willowinks, that is.

Or just Willow. Oh well.

Lunch was great. The tour of the house was great. The Solartubes installed in their roof were great. Megan's room was great. The visit to their friend Rene was great. Being smothered by stuffed animals at Rene's house was great. Things were just great. I don't know if things were really quantitatively great or if it was just the afterglow of getting to spend time with loved ones. Either way, good day. Many thanks to the Welch clan. =)

-Saturday--Watched a taped episode of "American Idol" with my lovey-dove, Justin. High drama! These girls are crazy! Frenchie is my favorite. I'm definitely making a Frenchie shirt...kinda a Che sort of black and white posterized thing on yellow, maybe...or maybe army green. Either way, Frenchie is da bomb...if people still used that phrase.

-Sunday--Drum roll. Justin and I actually screened in a porch by ourselves. $45, countless trips to retail meccas, one arguement over my lack of talent in the accent department (I really am terrible! The only good one I can do is Katherine Hepburn...and then it's just really, really scary), a chance meeting with a coworker, and much dallying about with a staple gun later and, viola, we had a screened-in-porch. The $45 wasn't representative, however, of the $100+ that Justin had to spend to get a kitty door installed (which we also did ourselves). I don't know what made us feel more accomplished--installing everything or getting the cat to use the door.

-Monday--Went to church! Yea! It's been awhile, since I really can't go to my old church, Lake Howell Bible Chapel (no non-celibate homos). A nice couple from Lake Howell, the Ericcsons, invited me to attend Northland Community Church, which they go to on Monday nights. I was a little trepidacious, but the worship service was very nice. Very energetic, yet sober. I felt very comfortable and I believe that I'll visit again. I have a few churches that I'd like to visit, so I'll keep everyone updated.

-Tuesday--I lost the job with the production company. They sent me their narrative synopsis of the script they want written and asked me for my view on it and whether I could write it. I gave some constructive criticism and asked them to make the next move. They did and I don't have the job anymore. I'm actually very thankful--I want to spend more time on my own writing right now and, while the money sounded good, I wouldn't have wanted to work for them if this kind of impass would occur later on in the script development process. I don't need that kind of stress... =)

Gotta go tape American Idol...it's like crack! (Not that I know...)
