A Croppy Day...

I've spent the better half of the afternoon figuring out how to crop artwork in Adobe Illustrator for export to a TIFF file. I had drawn the artwork without problem, imported my photos, typeset my text. I layered and applied transparency to images and positioned everything just so.

But no cropping in sight.

So, I checked Google. Then I checked the Adobe site. There was a plethora of tips on how to crop images and shapes, but not a tip on how to crop an entire document.

At the end of my rope, I finally read a rant on how Illustrator makes it hard to crop a document. I started nodding my head, whispering "Amen" under my breath, and realized that what I was reading was telling me how to do the very thing I had given up on.

So, now the artwork is on its way to the printers. My very first ad campaign that I wrote and designed! And I was hired as a Web Developer? What fun. =)

Despite all my reservations with the current Presidential administration (i.e. unnecessary amendments to the constitution to take away rights, being quick to invade other countries), I'll usually try to see the President's point-of-view on an issue and see how that POV might help the country in general.

However, I just can't see how people aren't up in arms regarding the fact that our Presidential administration is pushing for this Social Security reform that just isn't fiscally responsible. If it's not enough that we're spending billions on war, while complaining that our domestic programs are suffering from a lack of funds, it pushes things into even more insanity to hear that VP Cheney believes that we should borrow over $700 billion to fund the SS reforms.

So, this administration is not for raising taxes, but they're okay with leveraging our nations fiscal future on the backs of other countries we're supposedly the moral compass for? I don't know if I want my retirement income to be beholden to China or India.

Raise my taxes, for goodness sake, if that means that I'll get retirement income. Or cut bloated budgets to pay for what you want. But don't think that you can treat France like CapitolOne and get a low, low rate to pay for my future.

$700 billion...sheesh.

The wing was still there this morning, but no flapping.

I've replaced it as "the thing that will creep Keith out" with the imagery from "The Grudge," which Justin and I rented this weekend.

I've never been more scared by a PG-13 movie.
